Single Pan analytical balance

REFER FIGURE NO. 1

1.

Fix the (a) levelling screws (2 nos. in front and 1 no. at back). Keep levelling shoes under the levelling screws. (levelling shoes not shown in the figure)

2.

Take out the 6) top cover and (k) side covers by pulling it up vertically. Side covers are fixed there by using a simple technique. Have a good look at it before pulling it out, because it has to refit there later.

REFER FIGURE NO. 2.

The balance will look like this. (without (c) pan (b) weight operating knobs (i) on/off switch)

3.

Remove the foams and Rubber bands, which are there as packing materials.

4.

Unlock the (m) beam:- Unscrew (n) The red headed screws (2 nos.) and take out the (1) Locking rod. Screws are on both sides of the beam and the locking rod is put through the beam or over the beam. Refix the red headed screws in such a way, it should not disturb the free movement of the beam.

5.
Unlock the beam plate:- Unscrew the (o) single red headed screw completely, thus unlocking the beam plate completely. Keep the locking rod and beam plate locking screw out side the balance safely. It will be useful while shifting the balance to somewhere else.
6.

Fix the (e) side glasses:- Unscrew the (p) Red headed screw, (on both side of the balance. Only one is visible in the figure.) take out the side glass lock, keep the side glasses on it's slot and refix the side glass lock with the red headed screw.

7.
Fix the (b) weight operating knobs (3 nos.) in front panel. (Refer Figure No. 1)
8.

Arrange 'zero' in front panel by using the (b) weight operating knobs. (As shown in Figure No.1) Digital adjustment - the last two digits in the front panel - can adjust to 'zero' after fixing the (k) side covers and (d) Digital adjustment knob.

9.

Arrange the weights in side the balance property. (Refer Figure No. 2)

10.

Check whetherthe (q) cross 'T' is in it's right position or not.

11.

Fix the (c) pan on the upper Hook given in the (h) Weighing Chamber

12.

Refix the (k) side covers and (j) Top cover.

13.

Fix the (d) Digital adjustment knob through side cover on right side of the balance as shown in Figure No. 1. Adjust 'zero' on digital too.

14.

Fix the (i) On/ Off switch on the left side of the balance through side cover. (On/Off switch shown in figure 2 is at off position. It can switch on in two ways. Upwards - around 45' for approximate reading and downwards - around 90 foraccurate final reading. Should not try to rotate it more than it can).

15.

Fix the electric chord at connecting point on the back side of the balance and connect it to power point.
